Believed to be the first military issue watch manufactured by Seiko since World War II copies of these issue watches are widely available in the U.K.

A notable idiosyncrasy of the earlier watch's chronograph function is the register at the 3 o'clock position. This sub-dial measures tenths of a second. This register actively indicates the tenths of a second that have elapsed up until 10 minutes have passed. At this point the register stops actively measuring time. However, once the chronograph function is stopped the hand will move to the correct position indicating the number of tenths of a second that have elapsed.
